A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES TO RESTORE FUNCTION
AND IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE.
We firmly believe that Movement is Life and that movement heals.

The Pilates Method was created by Joseph Hubertus Pilates, who called it “Contrology” or the art of controlling the body and mind. Pilates designed his method as an integral therapy, a system that views the human being as a whole.
This vision of movement was innovative in the 20th-century Western world, as were the approach and exercises he proposed.
His movements emphasize quality and grace as essential parts of the exercise, so it is not just about “repeating” but about being fully present in each repetition to perform the exercises with fluidity and precision.
Inspired by martial arts, boxing, circus training, and yoga, Joseph Pilates, with his unique vision, European roots, and the mechanistic influence of his time, designed machines that allowed his patients to move even without his direct supervision.
Thus, he created an entirely new concept of fitness and training, paving the way for wellness and healthy aging.

Although he began developing his method in Europe, it truly flourished when he arrived in New York. There, he opened his studio on Fifth Avenue, in the same street where the most prominent dance companies of the time were located. It was in this setting that Pilates gained worldwide recognition.
His machines became a revolution, and the use of springs to generate closed-circuit tension continues to amaze us today.
These machines provide an entirely different experience from pulleys or free weights, offering a unique way to exercise and interact with gravity.
At Pilates & Co., we offer a wide variety of equipment: Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel, Spine Corrector, and more, providing a rich experience filled with movement and stimuli. You won’t just work on strength and mobility but also on endurance, motor control, balance, and coordination—a world of possibilities to help you restore lost function and improve your quality of life.
